The 2007 Biodefense Research Conference, sponsored by the Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JSTO-CBD)/Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), will provide a venue for Department of Defense leaders and researchers involved in the development of medical biodefense countermeasures to discuss current research initiatives and programs, exchange scientific information, explore future directions and strategies, and build collaborative relationships across the government, industry, and academia to meet the future needs of the biodefense community.

Dr. Leroy Hood, M.D., Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, 1964, Ph.D., Biochemistry, California Institute of Technology, 1968, is the founder and Director of the Institute for Systems Biology. He is recognized as one of the world's leading scientists in molecular biotechnology and genomics. Dr. Hood's research focuses on the study of molecular immunology, biotechnology, and genomics.
