Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Hawthorne L. “Peet” Proctor Joins Turn Key Office Solutions Arlington, VA (March 6. 2006) – Turn Key Office Solutions announced today that U.S. Army Major General (Ret.) Hawthorne L. “Peet” Proctor has joined the firm as Senior Logistician, bringing his 35 years of service, experience and leadership to Turn Key’s senior management team. General Proctor will assist in Turn Key’s ongoing services to the Department of Defense and help identify new opportunities for the firm’s logistics, personnel, records management and compliance practices. “General Proctor is eager to ‘hit the ground running’ and immediately support Turn Key’s contract to help integrate the Department of Defense’s logistics processes with its human capital strategic planning,” explained Turn Key President and CEO Susan Kurdziolek. Sponsored by the Defense Acquisition University and coordinated with the Logistics Function Integrated Project Team, the contract calls for Turn Key to help determine personnel and workforce needs, and how best to organize, manage and utilize the DOD workforce in the year 2015 and beyond. “Peet Proctor’s decision to sign up with Turn Key is a significant step in our effort to build a unique leadership team that can meet the strategic needs of the most demanding public and private sector organizations,” Kurdziolek added. “We’re delighted he has joined us.” Added General Proctor, “I see Turn Key as a special firm that can help the Department of Defense and a wide range of government agencies and businesses anticipate and manage their logistics, manpower and information needs. I am delighted to be part of Team Turn Key.” General Proctor recently served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of INNOLOG and COO of the Defense Logistics Agency at Ft. Belvoir, VA, then a $20 billion enterprise with an operating budget of $700 million. Earlier he served as the 46th Quartermaster General of the United States Army, the first African-American to hold that position. He led a corps of 122,000 military personnel who provided direct support to the nation’s 1.5 million soldiers, ensuring that food, fuel, water, clothing, repair parts and essential services were available to the men and women who needed them. He was responsible for training 25,000 Quartermaster Corps personnel per year, and led efforts to streamline, modernize, integrate and transform the Army’s supply chain management system. Commissioned in 1968, General Proctor served with distinction in Vietnam and later in a variety of overseas and domestic posts. Across the span of his career, he was responsible for developing internal CRM (customer relations management) systems, managing defense contracts, and both leading and improving military distribution, inventory and personnel management, and automated systems. His awards and decorations include: The Distinguished Service Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with three oak leaf clusters), Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal and several additional honors. A member of the Society of International Logistics, General Proctor is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and earned an M.A. in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. ###
